The Lore

Back in 2010, owner Katie Archbold began attending a video game production course in Orlando, FL. By 2013, they had graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a contract position at a local indie game studio. Many days were spent working from home or, more preferably, coffee shops. They soon cultivated a love for the community and culture of coffee shops… and maybe fell out of love with the game industry. An interest in latte art sparked an interest in espresso, and soon they purchased their first home espresso machine. Determined to improve their craft, but feeling limited by what could be achieved at home, they got their first job as a barista. Over the years, their passion for coffee and love of all things nerdy coalesced into a desire to create a community space that honored those things.

Fourty Winks Espresso & Cold Brew Bar is a fantasy “tavern” that serves the finest locally roasted coffee and handcrafted sodas. Our seasonal Potions & Tonics will give an extra boost to your character’s stats, but all our drinks are guaranteed to refresh and pick you up!

The Slow Bar

We have a regular indoor “pop-up” inside The Vintage Chair on Curry Ford Road. While The Vintage Chair is no stranger to “sip and shop”, The Slow Bar expands their hours and offerings. We are pushing back against the concept of a high energy, fast paced coffee bar. Browse vintage treasures, chat with other patrons, and let your barista craft the perfect drink for you.
